Local Law 152 (LL152) is a gas safety law that makes the inspection of gas piping systems in The Bronx residential and commercial establishments mandatory. Conducted by licensed master plumbers or supervised licensed plumbers, re-inspections are mandatory every four years.

What Properties IN THE BRONX Does Local Law 152 Apply To?
As per the code, gas systems in buildings located in the Bronx, bar those in buildings categorized in the R3 occupancy group, have to be inspected periodically. Buildings that contain two units and no more are exempt. These can include group homes and residences that house less than 20 occupants.

Inspection Requirements IN THE BRONX
As per LL152, all exposed piping from entry points, including gas meters and pipelines in public and tenant spaces, have to be inspected by licensed plumbers. After the first inspection, another one must be conducted after four years periodically on the same date. Gas system inspections of new buildings must be conducted from the 10th year from the date on the Certificate of Occupancy.
